Office of Parks, Recreation, & Historic Preservation CDL Driver Parks and Recreation Aide 6 (Temporary) in Salamanca, New York
The incumbent will work on the Regional Road Crew under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor 1 and the Regional Park Maintenance Supervisor. The primary work for this position will involve:
- Drive large trucks to haul materials and transport equipment using trailers.
- Operate snow plows and heavy equipment to remove snow and clear snowbanks
- Performing road and drainage system maintenance and construction tasks using heavy equipment.
- Operating garbage trucks to empty dumpsters within the park and transporting garbage to the transfer station.
- Operating mowers and brush hogs to maintain vegetation within right-of-ways.
- Installing and repairing traffic signs as needed.
- Setting up and maintaining highway work zones and traffic control.
- Assisting with the installation and maintenance of erosion control measures.
- Perfoming medium to heavy manual labor as part of daily tasks
- Conducting regular maintenance on tools, vehicles, and equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Providing support for emergency response functions as assigned.
- Preparing reports on a daily basis and maintaining required records.
- Ensure complicane with with safety regulations, standards, and procedures related to work being perfomed.
- Adhering to the agency's Code of Conduct Policy and ensuring compliance with all guidelines, policies, and procedures in the performance of daily tasks.
- Must pocess a Class A or B CDL with airbrake endorsement that allows candidate to lawfully operate commercial vehicles in NY state and maintain it as a term and condition of employment.
