Amherst H. Wilder Foundation Maintenance Technician in Saint Paul, Minnesota
Job Duties
As a valued team member, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, comfortable, functional, and organized physical environment for employees, clients, and visitors. Under the direction of the Maintenance Administrator, you will be responsible for the care of the real estate assets owned by the Foundation. Facility Maintenance: Perform general mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC maintenance. This includes troubleshooting, warranty repairs, and purchasing necessary parts to complete work requests. Inventory & Asset Management: Maintain a precise inventory of equipment, tools, and supplies. Act as a backup for ordering supplies required for Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules. Documentation & Compliance: Complete monthly PM logs and ensure all documentation is accurate, timely, and meets regulatory standards.
Minimum Education Required
Job Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is required. Candidates must have three to five years of experience in building and grounds maintenance and hold a Special Class C boiler's license or higher. A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet Foundation driver requirements are also required. Proficiency with building automation systems, security and fire systems, energy management systems, and work order platforms is preferred. Specialized technical training is also a plus. The role requires the ability to perform heavy work, including occasionally lifting to 100 lbs. and frequently carrying up to 50 lbs. Prior experience working with underserved communities is preferred.
