Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The maintenance technician will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of steel plate and steel coil manufacturing equipment, which includes plasma tables and steel coil lines. A portion of the work will also involve preventive maintenance on forklifts. The role primarily involves working in the production area, ensuring the smooth operation of equipment by addressing breakdowns and performing scheduled maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
Perform general maintenance on plant equipment including lubrication, monitoring, repairing, preventive maintenance, and inspections.
Identify potential equipment problems and initiate improvement projects.
Complete work orders and communicate effectively with operators to ensure smooth operation and address any equipment concerns.
Troubleshoot and repair equipment, focusing on maintaining optimal performance and efficiency.

Welding
Knowledge of motors, hydraulics, and pneumatics
Additional Skills & Qualifications
1+ year of maintenance experience for the apprentice role; 10+ years for the maintenance technician role
PLC troubleshooting experience (nice to have)
Welding experience (nice to have)
Experience maintaining overhead cranes, plasma tables, and forklifts (preferred)

Work Environment
This is a mid-shift role, initially training on the first shift from 6am to 2:30pm for 30-90 days depending on experience. The schedule is typically 5x8, starting around noon or 1pm post-training. Fridays are dedicated to project-based work as production is off. The work environment is an industrial, very large warehouse, originally built to accommodate warship construction. It is an old-school setting with variable temperatures—hot in summer and cold in winter, as the building's temperature is uncontrollable due to frequent door operations.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.76 - $38.81/hr.
