About the role and what you’ll be doing: in this roleyou are responsible for creating Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation and providing technical expertise to support Sales and Solution Architecture teams. You also work directly with prospective and new clients to identify components in scope for client onboarding and migration activities.
In this role, you lead client onboarding and migration efforts and complete end-to-end server builds. You are responsible for DB2 for z/OS upgrades and associated ISV products and actively support the transition of client environments from in-house IT teams to Ensono’s managed services model. This role may support multiple migrations or projects concurrently.
Support DB2 environments for one or more clients, including applying maintenance and performing upgrades as needed.
Upgrade, install, and support DB2-related ISV software.
Test and monitor existing DB2 workloads following OS or CPU upgrades.
Collaborate with clients to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve DB2 system, software, and database-related issues.
Participate in onboarding new clients by supporting knowledge transfer activities and shadowing client environments.
Work collaboratively with a team of mainframe professionals to transition new clients into Ensono’s support model.
Apply a strong working knowledge of DB2 utilities, TSO, and FTP to daily support and project work.
Leverage a solid understanding of SMP/E and its role in the DB2 installation and maintenance process.
Demonstrate working knowledge of the WLM environment as it relates to DB2 performance and workload management.
Perform project-based work; this role does not require 24×7 on-call support.

Minimum of 10 years of experience working in a z/OS mainframe environment.
Broad expertise across core mainframe domains, including the z/OS operating system, storage, databases, CICS, and disaster recovery concepts.
Proven experience implementing, supporting, and upgrading DB2 for z/OS in enterprise production environments.
Experience supporting DB2 for z/OS from a systems or DBA perspective.
Strong technical capability with DB2-related ISV software on the z/OS platform.
Proficiency with SMP/E, including base installations and ongoing maintenance for DB2 and associated ISV software.
Demonstrated experience working with ISV vendors to perform problem determination and drive issue resolution.
Working knowledge of common DB2 tooling, including CA database tools, IBM database tools, Sysview, OMEGAMON, and MainView.
Solid understanding of DB2 Connect, security exits, DB2 data sharing in a Sysplex environment, DB2 log analysis, and DB2 system recovery.
Ability to act as the primary technical database point of contact for clients during transitions and ongoing support.
Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a client-facing environment.
Experience leading and participating in client meetings, workshops, and conference calls.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel to produce clear, client-ready documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with CICS or advanced knowledge of the z/OS operating system.
Experience with IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator (IDAA).
Experience with IMS and IMS upgrades.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this role is $80,000 $150,000 annually based on a full-time schedule. Please note that placement in the range may vary based on numerous factors including but not limited to skills, experience, internal equity, and business needs. In addition to base salary, other compensation programs, depending on eligibility, include an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, and an equity grant under our Associate Equity Appreciation Program.
