Machine Operator – 2nd Shift | $22.50/hr | Saint Paul, MN
Location: Saint Paul, MN 55115
Pay: $ 22.50/hour
Schedule: 2nd Shift | 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM

PDS Tech is hiring an experienced Machine Operator to support production using automated cut, strip, and crimp machinery . This is a hands-on role where your attention to detail and mechanical skills directly impact product quality and efficiency.

What You’ll Do
Machine Operation & Setup
Set up and operate automated cut/strip/crimp machines
Run multiple machines simultaneously while maintaining efficiency
Change blades, rollers, and guide tubes based on wire specs
Perform routine maintenance and preventative maintenance (PMs)
Troubleshoot machine and applicator issues as they arise
Production & Quality
Inspect products to IPC standards
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions
Perform in-process checks to reduce scrap and ensure accuracy
Count, bundle, and label finished materials with lot tracking
Accurately enter production data into ERP systems
Team & Support
Assist and support Level I & II operators
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Follow all safety procedures and report any concerns
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
2+ years of machine operation experience in manufacturing
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
Ability to read prints, SOPs, and work instructions
Basic math skills (measurements, fractions, calculations)
Experience using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, rulers)
Comfortable with computers and data entry systems
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in wire harness or cable assembly manufacturing
Familiarity with Komax, Kodera, or Schleuniger machines
Knowledge of ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 environments
Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
4+ years of machine setup and operation
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, bending, and repetitive hand movements
Lift up to 20 lbs regularly, up to 50 lbs occasionally
Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
Ability to work in a moderate noise environment

Pay Details: $22.50 per hour
