Aerotek Industrial Maintenance Technician in Saint Paul, Minnesota

Maintenance Technician – Manufacturing | 1st or 2nd Shift

We’re hiring a skilled Maintenance Technician to support a fast‑paced manufacturing operation focused on equipment uptime, reliability, and continuous improvement. This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys troubleshooting complex systems , working across multiple trades, and being a critical partner to production.

You’ll work hands-on with conveyors, packaging equipment, automation components, and facility systems , helping keep operations running safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair conveyor systems and production equipment to minimize downtime

  • Diagnose and repair electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems (cylinders, valves, solenoids, etc.)

  • Perform HVAC troubleshooting on RTUs, pumps, and related systems

  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance (PM) tasks

  • Maintain and repair packaging and production equipment such as:

  • Palletizers, Case Erectors, Drop Packers, Top Sealers

  • Blow molding and related automated systems

  • Work with 24V–480V, 3‑phase electrical systems , motors, and VFDs

  • Align motors and shafts, replace bearings, and complete mechanical repairs

  • Troubleshoot automation components (photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches)

  • Perform general facility maintenance including doors, painting, and light plumbing

  • Accurately document repairs, PMs, and corrective actions

  • Collaborate closely with production to schedule repairs with minimal disruption

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 1–2+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on repair experience

  • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools

  • Experience working on:

  • Hydraulic systems (cylinders, valves, solenoids)

  • Pneumatic systems (air circuits, valves, actuators)

  • Electrical systems including motors, VFDs, and control circuits

  • Comfortable using multimeters and reading schematics and blueprints

  • Experience supporting conveyors and automated equipment

  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot under pressure

Preferred Experience (Not Required)

  • Packaging or high‑speed production equipment

  • Blow molding or automated manufacturing environments

  • General building maintenance (light plumbing, carpentry, facility repairs)

  • Experience maintaining pumps (diaphragm, centrifugal, displacement)

  • Strong documentation and CMMS experience

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Manufacturing facility with active production equipment

  • 1st Shift : Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm or 10:00am–6:30pm

  • 2nd Shift : Monday–Friday, 2:30pm–1:00am

  • Hands-on role working directly on the production floor

  • Fast-paced environment focused on uptime, safety, and efficiency

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Paul, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
