Actalent is hiring for a Development Process Engineer in the St, Paul, MN area!



Job Description

We are seeking a Development Process Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a extensive experience in manufacturing engineering, particularly within the medical device or related industry. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage projects, improve processes, and ensure compliance with various regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Establish processes based on product specifications and evaluate alternatives using Design for Manufacturability principles.

  • Manage program compliance with Quality Control requirements, including Design Control and Process validation.

  • Maintain knowledge of new developments in manufacturing and design technologies.

  • Support divisional initiatives in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS).

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations and other regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct design of experiments (DOE) studies to improve yield and efficiency.

  • Coach, mentor, and guide technicians, trainers, and operators.

  • Manage projects involving new production equipment, process development/improvements, and cost reductions.

  • Conduct equipment qualifications and process validations.

  • Improve product quality, labor efficiency, and throughput using Lean manufacturing concepts.

  • Coordinate the design, procurement, build, and debug of tooling, machinery, and test equipment.

  • Work cross-functionally with R&D, Finance, Quality, and Operations to define process inputs and outputs.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.

  • 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in the medical device or related industry.

  • Experience in process improvement initiatives and working in a matrixed, geographically diverse business environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at multiple organizational levels.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills with attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Medical device experience is preferred.

  • Experience interfacing closely with R&D.

  • Experience in delivery system design, yield improvements, and cost reduction.

  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is a plus.

Work Environment

The role involves working in an enterprise-level, cross-division business unit model. The candidate must be comfortable multitasking and prioritizing tasks effectively. The work environment requires compliance with OSHA regulations and maintaining positive and cooperative communication with employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Saint Paul, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58.00 - $60.00/hr.
