The Construction Quality Control Manager provides on-site quality control leadership and support for a federal building project. This role manages all quality assurance and quality control activities, ensuring that construction work meets project specifications, regulatory standards, and best practices. The position holds the authority to act on all quality control matters and plays a key role in delivering a safe, compliant, and high-quality facility.
Responsibilities
Manage and oversee all Quality Assurance and Quality Control requirements for the construction project.
Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for all quality control matters, with authority to make decisions and take corrective actions as needed.
Implement, monitor, and enforce the project’s quality control plan, procedures, and standards.
Conduct regular inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
Review work related to waterproofing, air barriers, window and curtain wall systems, roofing systems, and transitions between exterior assemblies to ensure proper installation and performance.
Identify quality issues, non-conformances, and potential risks, and coordinate timely resolution with the project team.
Collaborate closely with construction management, site supervision, and trade partners to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Document inspection results, quality control activities, and corrective actions in an organized and timely manner.
Support preparation for and participation in project audits, inspections, and reviews by stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
Provide guidance and oversight to ensure that quality control practices align with safety requirements and project goals.
Essential Skills
Proven experience in construction quality control and quality assurance on building projects.
Strong background in construction management with the ability to coordinate effectively with on-site teams.
Practical knowledge of waterproofing systems and their proper installation and detailing.
Practical knowledge of air barrier systems and their integration with building envelopes.
Practical knowledge of window and curtain wall systems, including performance and interface requirements.
Practical knowledge of roofing systems and their coordination with other exterior assemblies.
Ability to evaluate and manage transition details between exterior assemblies to maintain performance and continuity.
Demonstrated ability to manage and enforce project quality control plans and procedures.
Strong decision-making skills with the authority and confidence to act on quality control matters.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve quality issues in the field.
Effective communication skills for coordinating with project stakeholders and documenting quality activities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.
Experience working on federal or large commercial building projects.
Familiarity with GSA or similar federal building standards and requirements.
Ability to promote a proactive quality culture within the construction team.
Strong organizational skills for managing documentation, reports, and inspections.
Work Environment
This is an on-site role based at a federal building construction project. The Construction Quality Control Manager works primarily in the field, closely observing and inspecting ongoing construction activities, with some time spent in a site office for documentation and coordination. The environment involves regular interaction with construction managers, supervisors, trade partners, and inspectors. The role operates within a safety-focused setting where adherence to OSHA and project safety requirements is essential. Standard construction-site attire, including appropriate personal protective equipment such as hard hat, safety boots, and high-visibility clothing, is required while on site.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
Per diem, travel expenses, vehicle, 401k, medical/dental/vision all available
