St Marys Area Chamber of Commerce Outreach Coordinator in Saint Marys, Pennsylvania
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Outreach Coordinator handles a variety of tasks pertaining to the professional operation of the SM Chamber of Commerce Office, including duties related to administrative, membership, retail, and community outreach. All tasks shall be done in a way that represents the SM Chamber of Commerce in a positive and professional manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Greet customers, vendors, and visitors in a friendly manner when answering the telephone or greeting in person.
- Coordinate scheduling with other chamber employee(s) to ensure that the SM Chamber office is open during established business hours.
- Willingness to work outside of regularly scheduled hours as needed.
- Maintain / update Google calendar of daily tasks, activities, and hours worked.
- Generate ideas for new member recruitment, volunteer recruitment, projects, events, and activities.
- Schedule and/or attend meetings of various groups within the business community when such meetings may involve or affect the purpose and function of the Chamber or projects related to the Chamber; report involvement/development to the SM Chamber Board.
- Maintain detailed monthly reports regarding community involvement & engagement, Sales, member recruitment & support, etc. Provide report for monthly Board of Directors meeting.
- Assist committee chairs with critical timelines; provide necessary and appropriate support, participate in all chamber sponsored events.
- Coordinate business promotions, monthly membership newsletter, community calendar, Facebook & other social media, tourism promotion, etc.
- Coordinate, promote, and attend ribbon cuttings & open house events for SM Chamber members.
- Establishing programs for membership recruitment and retention, maintaining accurate records of new member outreach.
- Create a visitation program with existing and new businesses to increase membership, address concerns and encourage active participation at SM Chamber membership events.
- Create & distribute a member directory book annually.
- Maintain / Update SM Area Chamber of Commerce Website, ensuring accuracy of information as well as functionality of member links.
- Any other duties as directed / required by the SM Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED required. Experience operating at a high level in an office environment is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This job requires equal amounts of sitting, walking, standing, minimal lifting and other physical activities.
