Actalent Systems Engineer in Saint Louis, Missouri
Job Title: Systems EngineerJob Description
This technical position supports municipal and industrial water and wastewater projects. The role combines office-based engineering and design with field startup, commissioning, and service work.
Responsibilities
Lead submittals and technical documentation with minimal oversight.
Design control panels and system architectures, including specification development and process flow diagram generation.
Run startups independently and direct field problem solving.
Serve as a technical resource for customers and assist in pre-sale discussions.
Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI programs.
Essential Skills
Degree in electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering/technology.
Ability to read electrical schematics and P&IDs.
Comfortable in industrial and construction environments.
Strong communication skills with operators, contractors, and engineers.
Valid driver’s license.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with water or wastewater treatment systems.
Knowledge of instrumentation such as flow, level, pressure, and analytical devices.
Familiarity with motor controls and VFDs.
Proficiency in industrial networking and telemetry.
Skills in PLC programming, electrical engineering, automation, AutoCAD, control panel design, P&ID, SCADA, hydraulics, and flow analysis.
Work Environment
The position requires travel up to 50%, typically local within the vicinity of St. Louis. The role involves working in industrial and construction environments.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Saint Louis, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $57.00/hr.
