  • Barnes-Jewish Hospital - Plaza Tower Neuro Step-Down (10500) - 10th Floor The Neuro Step-Down Unit at Barnes Jewish Hospital is a specialized care area designed to provide intermediate-level care to patients with neurological conditions who require close monitoring but are stable enough to transition from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This unit caters to patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, neurosurgical procedures, seizures, and other complex neurological conditions. Nurses in the Neuro Step-Down Unit are trained in advanced neurological assessments, monitoring of neuro-specific symptoms, and the use of specialized equipment, such as intracranial pressure monitors and continuous EEG. With a focus on early rehabilitation and recovery, the nursing staff works closely with a multidisciplinary team, including neurologists, neurosurgeons, physical therapists, and speech therapists, to provide comprehensive care that supports patients in regaining function and transitioning to less intensive care settings.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates ongoing educational and professional development activities and programs for clinical and non-clinical areas.

  • Collaborates with staff and representatives of other organizations to develop, present and or evaluate clinically focused training, continuing education and or professional development opportunities.

  • Participates in activities that promote safety, quality and regulatory compliance.

  • Collaborates with leadership to assess the educational needs of the staff and develops appropriate education plan.

  • Participates in professional development and life long learning.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree - Nursing

Experience

  • 2-5 years
