Job Title: Machine Adjuster Job Description
The Envelope Machine Adjuster is responsible for setting up, adjusting, operating, and maintaining envelope folding machines (models 527, 627, and RA). This role ensures each job meets customer specifications by performing accurate machine setups, quality checks, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and supporting production flow across the team.
Responsibilities
Set up, calibrate, and operate envelope folding machines.
Configure machine components such as web stand, sheet feeder, patch unit, print unit, gumming, and flexographic plate setup.
Monitor and maintain run speed, quality, and safety across the shift.
Perform sampling, documentation, and quality checks for folding, print accuracy, size, gumming, and sealing.
Conduct routine maintenance, lubrication, cleaning, and minor mechanical repairs.
Troubleshoot print unit issues and perform basic-to-advanced die cutting adjustments.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation.
Communicate job status across shifts and support training of new employees.
Essential Skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications
2+ years of experience as an Envelope Machine Adjuster or similar high-speed mechanical operator.
Strong understanding of gears, rollers, timing, alignment, lubrication cycles, and machine diagnostics.
Ability to read rulers, perform basic math, and convert fractions/decimals.
Experience in machine maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.

Work Environment
Work is conducted inside an un-airconditioned manufacturing plant with seasonal temperature shifts. The job involves standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive motions for 10-hour shifts. Expect exposure to inks, solvents, adhesives, and other pressroom chemicals with PPE provided. Ability to lift 50–70 lbs and occasionally work at elevated heights up to 15 ft is required. The environment is fast-paced, requiring strong situational awareness and teamwork.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
