Health & Safety Specialist (EHS) – Bio-ManufacturingMake an Impact Where Science Meets Safety

Responsibilities
Support and ensure compliance with site EHS regulations and programs.
Contribute to the prevention and culture enhancement of health and safety practices.
Manage and implement safety training programs.
Conduct risk assessments and develop emergency plans.
Oversee regulated waste management, chemical and biological safety, and laboratory safety.
Handle hazard communication, electrical safety, and fall protection.
Coordinate incident management and contractor EHS management.
Ensure safety protocols for powered industrial trucks.
Essential Skills
5 years of experience with EHS, specifically in Health and Safety within biohazard and lab settings.
Knowledge in regulated waste management, chemical and biological safety, incident management, laboratory safety, risk assessment, emergency planning, hazard communication, electrical safety, and fall protection.
Experience with powered industrial trucks and contractor EHS management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in chemical manufacturing is highly desirable.
Extensive experience with lab safety and chemical safety.
Experience in regulated environments is beneficial.
Work Environment
You will be part of a team consisting of 1 Specialist 2 (Entry Level), 1 Specialist 3, 2 Experienced Specialists, and 1 Manager. The Experienced Specialist primarily handles injuries at the site. The facility features smooth floors where pharmaceutical liquids may spill, leading to potential slips. Ergonomic issues may arise due to manual hoses and piping, along with chemical exposure risks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $48.00/hr.
