Aerotek Forklift Operator in Saint Louis, Missouri

Job Title: Forklift Operator Job Description

This position involves working outdoors with bulk tanks, handling the unloading and loading of inbound or outbound bulk tanks containing 3000-pound liquid products. Responsibilities include cleaning hoses, pumps, and tanks according to QA schedules, completing QA paperwork, and sealing/unsealing hoses from bulk trucks. Additionally, when not engaged with bulk tanks, the employee will support warehouse operations, which include material handling and operating forklifts.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a stand-up forklift for shipping and receiving materials.

  • Supply materials to production lines and remove materials from lines.

  • Ensure compliance with GMP policies by wearing appropriate attire such as hair and beard nets, and company-provided lab coats.

  • Unload and load bulk tanks, and clean equipment following scheduled QA protocols.

  • Complete necessary QA paperwork.

  • Assist with general warehouse operations including order picking and material handling.

  • Use scanning technology for tracking products from trucks to production lines.

  • Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of tanks, hoses, and pumps.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with stand-up forklift operation.

  • Familiarity with food manufacturing processes and GMP policies.

  • Capability to handle bulk tanks and understand cleaning schedules.

  • Ability to operate reach trucks and perform scanning of materials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a food manufacturing plant is highly desirable.

  • Flexibility to work in various warehouse operations including order picking, product organization, and delivering products to production lines.

  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience.

Work Environment

The role requires working outdoors for 8-12 hours daily, irrespective of weather conditions, primarily focusing on bulk tanks. Collaboration with the Quality team is essential for cleaning tasks. The work environment is a food manufacturing setting, demanding adherence to GMP practices. The team comprises 5-10 warehouse employees and over 30 production workers. The shift is from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with mandatory overtime on Saturdays. Employees must follow a dress code that includes wearing pants, steel-toed boots, and PPE provided by the company, such as lab coats and hard hats.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.50/hr.
