Director of Sales-Walgreens
Builds and maintains effective long-term relationships with key decision-makers and influencers at assigned customer accounts. Identifies and develops new sales opportunities while creating demand for the organization’s products and services. Achieves revenue targets by increasing spend per account and conducting regular strategy meetings with customers to understand their needs and align them with the organization’s offerings. Develops medium to long-range sales plans and strategies to protect, grow, and diversify relationships with existing clients. Resolves issues to ensure high-quality customer service, while identifying cross-selling and upselling opportunities to enhance client retention and drive profitable business growth.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Director of Sales-Walgreens, are to:
The Director, Strategy & Growth, WAGS leads development of the Team strategy and assures alignment to overall US Sales strategy;
Needs to be a strategic partner with WAGS executives. While this role focuses on the Walgreen’s business in the US, the customer is global and is among Bayer Consumer’s largest global customers. The role will interface with other global sales teams managing business with the Walgreens/Boots Alliance. The Channels that are part of this class of trade is national in scope and/or crosses boundaries of mass consumption and profit in the U.S;
The incumbent thoroughly understands the aspirational base plan and ensures strategic alignment with key customers at multiple levels;
This leader must be able to work through assisting in the management and people development of indirect, cross- functional resources, including the managing the people development of the WAGS Sales team, in order to maximize sales volume and reach profit results;
Communicate with Sales Strategy internal departments to understand division MIFRI, StraCo, and ABP strategies and tactics for the business and effectively communicate these to the WAGS sales team;
Responsible for establishing and achieving customer annual and long-term priorities through Joint Business Planning process with the global sales team;
Provide customer-focused field input and analysis to internal departments to assist in the development of market-driven business strategies, plans and programs;
Achieve Bayer volume and brand KPI objectives through successful sell-in and execution of the sales controllables across Bayer’s brands, in assortment, promotion, pricing, shelving, and new products;
Provide monthly forecast including risk and opportunity assessment;
Guides team in analytical initiatives to ensure fact-based support to sell-in of Bayer initiatives and to drive identification of new opportunities;
Evaluates retail controllable best practices to identify opportunities
Develops account-specific promotion plan and integrates new products Integrates digital program into customer and/or channel plans, as appropriate;
Leads and actively participates in Joint Business Planning process for the assigned WAGS team, including: Leads and participates in Joint Business Planning with customers Conducts ongoing assessment of annual business plans for course correction to current year plan achievement, implications to next year’s plan development
Monitors/tracks competitive activity and identifies needs/implications;
Acts as Field Sales liaison to HQ Sales Support for ongoing communication of retailer department, category, Bayer brand, customer and/or channel issues in the US; Bayer business-building opportunities for WAGS;
Leads and participates in key strategic meetings with customer (such as top-to-tops) as the primary interface with WAGS customer executives;
Participates in the recruitment, development, and career pathing for the customer or channel team.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required:
BS/BA degree;
Direct HQ selling experience is required, preferably with a key customer;
Must have proven ability to work through others without direct management authority;
Fit to win competencies: Builds effective teams, cultivates innovation, learning and change agility, customer focus, action oriented/drives results, collaborates globally and locally, plans & aligns, drives stakeholder engagement, effectively manages suppliers;
Fit to win skills: Financial acumen: Excellent financial management skills to critically and objectively assess trade merchandising programs and cost investments versus results; ability to streamline operational processes. Superior analytical ability, assessing different models and related outputs, with understanding of impact of Kroger business decisions;
Understand the customer and the marketplace: Relentless customer focus with exceptional knowledge of market landscape and GTM strategies. Understand impact of individual decisions to long term business implications for Bayer;
Communication/ active listening: Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence. Able to create and deliver clear and concise presentations. Strong people development skills in coaching and motivating;
Negotiation skills: In-depth experience aligning cross-functional teams with conflicting objectives to a common outcome. Superior, proven ability to problem solve and develop win-win solutions to complex situations;
Tech/digital savvy: Strong computer skills including MS office and analyzing consumption data to build strategy;
Ability to travel as necessary or required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Sales strategy and/or operations and/or category management experience preferred.
Field sales management and/or direct broker management experience preferred.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $165520-248,280. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
