Five County Association of Governments is seeking a Weatherization Technician to help improve the comfort, safety, and energy efficiency of homes across our communities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem solving, and helping local families reduce energy costs.

What You'll Do

As a Weatherization Technician, you will work in homes throughout the region installing energy-saving improvements and performing weatherization upgrades.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Install insulation, air sealing materials, and weather-stripping

  • Seal ductwork and improve heating and cooling efficiency

  • Identify and repair air leaks in homes using diagnostic tools such as a blower door

  • Install energy-saving devices such as:

    • Low-flow showerheads
    • Faucet aerators
    • Efficient lighting
  • Install vapor barriers and insulation in crawl spaces, attics, and walls

  • Repair drywall, plaster, and window glazing as needed

  • Safely operate insulation blowing machines and other equipment

  • Follow safety procedures and maintain quality workmanship on every project

What We're Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Utah driver's license
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in physically active environments

Preferred

  • 3+ years of construction, weatherization, or home repair experience
  • Experience with insulation, carpentry, HVAC, or energy efficiency work
  • Ability to use common hand and power tools

Work Environment

This position involves hands-on field work in a variety of residential settings.

Employees should be comfortable:

  • Working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Climbing, kneeling, bending, and working in attics or crawl spaces
  • Being exposed to dust, insulation materials, and construction environments
