Job Description
A civil engineering consulting firm located in St. George, Utah, is seeking applicants for a Civil Staff Engineer with an emphasis in water resources. The applicant would be associated with large, medium, and small projects for private development and local municipalities. The position would be responsible for completing designated tasks as directed by a senior project engineer. The position is anticipated to be full-time, Monday through Friday. Applicant position is to be paid on an hourly wage up to 40 hours per week. Work beyond 40 hours per week is paid at 1.5 times the negotiated wage. A competitive, hourly wage is to be negotiated based on experience, skill set, and previous work applicable to the position.
Job Requirements
Possess ability to learn new skills and software.
Handle multiple projects simultaneously and independently, including prioritizing, organizing, and planning time effectively to meet deadlines.
Possess effective written and verbal communication skills.
Be able to learn and use engineering software for developing hydrologic and hydraulic modeling systems including HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and EPA-NET.
Be able to learn and use AutoCAD Civil 3D software platform to prepare site civil construction plans.
Utilize the Microsoft Office and Adobe software platforms.
Perform field measurements and assist with construction observation and management.
Knowledge or ability to learn ArcGIS platforms.
Possess a valid driver's license. Company vehicle will be provided for travel to job sites, but applicants should have their own vehicle for daily travel to/from office.
Perform other assigned duties as required.
