Miller Milling Intern (Summer) in Saginaw, Texas
Summary:
The Intern will be responsible for assisting with a variety of plant mill, administrative or sales related activities.
Primary Duties:
Plant Activities
Learn the production process in a mill. Assist the supervisors and manager throughout the entire milling process.
Work with the accounting department to ensure accurate contract application and credits are applied as needed.
Answer customer contacts regarding orders and production schedules.
Sales Activities
Generate contract balance reports with load applications for the sales team to assist with communicating information to the sales team so we are able to balance the charging and remaining balances of pricing and flour.
Work with the accounting department to ensure accurate contract application and credits are applied as needed.
Answer customer emails regarding load applications and PO pricing and confirmations.
Enter the sales contracts, modify, close and troubleshoot them as well as needed into the Cinch database.
Generate an Oakland Costcard and quote customers daily flour prices based on futures, mix, clears, and midds values, as well as summarize futures market close.
Generate a monthly royalty report for a major vendor and send it to the representative responsible for that account.
Set up new customers in the system. This includes calling/faxing trade references and establishing the file for the credit limit approval process.
Administration
Provide administrative support to the sales team in areas of updating and formatting pricing sheets, etc.
May help with entering in barley contacts, determining freight rates based upon freight invoices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Working toward degree or strong interest in Accounting, Agricultural Sales or related field
Strong attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Good verbal and written communication skills
Strong project management and multi-tasking skills
