Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role as a Controller at our location in Saginaw, Michigan. The Controller is responsible for leading and managing the company's accounting and finance functions in support of organizational goals and regulatory requirements. This role provides oversight of financial operations, reporting, compliance, and cost accounting in a manufacturing environment and serves as a key financial partner to company leadership.

The position ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records, maintains effective internal controls, and supports timely financial reporting and audits. The role also plays a critical part in maintaining cost accounting systems and ERP data to support manufacturing operations and informed decision-making.

Operating within a small, privately owned company, the Controller works hands-on across multiple functions, collaborates with internal teams, and maintains strong relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies.

This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative, quality-driven culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing and/or cost accounting environment
  • Experience managing month-end close, financial statements, and audits
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and cost accounting structures
  • Experience with payroll, tax compliance, and regulatory reporting
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
