Mease Countryside Physical Therapy & Sports Rehabilitation , a state‑of‑the‑art outpatient clinic on the Mease Countryside Hospital campus and part of BayCare Health System , is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our collaborative rehabilitation team. This role supports licensed Physical Therapists in delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care to individuals recovering from orthopedic injuries, sports‑related conditions, and other musculoskeletal disorders in an outpatient setting.
The ideal candidate is passionate about helping patients safely return to active lifestyles through evidence‑based treatment, education, and hands‑on care.
Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant Responsibilities:
Implement individualized treatment plans under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
Provide therapeutic exercises, neuromuscular re‑education, manual techniques, and modality treatments as prescribed
Treat patients with a variety of outpatient orthopedic and sports‑related conditions, including post‑surgical and injury recovery
Monitor patient progress and response to treatment; communicate observations and concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist
Educate patients on exercises, injury prevention, and proper body mechanics to support recovery and long‑term outcomes
Document treatments, progress notes, and patient interactions accurately and timely in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary rehab team to ensure excellent patient experience and outcomes
Requirements:
BLS (Basic Life Support)
PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant)
Or PTA (Physical Therapy Assistant) Temporary and licensure within 6 months
Required Associate's Physical Therapy
Preferred 1 year Physical Therapy Assistant
Preferred:
Outpatient orthopedic or sports rehabilitation experience
Experience working with active or athletic populations
Manual therapy experience
