The Technical Project Manager will serve as the primary operational bridge between the Business Unit and the centralized Service Organization (Field Service Engineering, Customer Technical Support, and related shared-service teams). In a matrix environment, this role ensures the BU’s priorities are clearly represented, service performance is transparent, and customer experience is consistently delivered at the level expected. The role leads cross-functional implementation efforts, drives service readiness for new products, and maintains alignment across R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and shared service teams.
This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Global Product Technical Support and is part of the Global Product Technical Support (GPTS), responsible for Service of the Microbiology product line located in West Sacramento, CA and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Work with Microbiology GPTS management to define, negotiate, and monitor service expectations, and performance measures with shared-service partners.
Maintain transparency into BU instrument service operations, tracking utilization, workload distribution, performance metrics, and recurring issues.
Develop structured project plans with integrated timelines and risk management strategies that drive clear stakeholder communication, alignment, accountability and timely escalation as needed.
Ensure service teams have the tools, workflows, and knowledge required to support new hardware, software, connectivity, and middleware offerings.
Identify gaps in service performance or customer experience and coordinate cross-functional solutions involving both BU and centralized service teams.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, or scientific field; advanced degree preferred.
Prefer 5+ years of experience in service operations, project management, applications/technical support, or a related function.
Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, especially when partnering with teams not under direct reporting lines.
Experience supporting field service organizations, call centers, or technical support groups strongly preferred.
Demonstrated success working within a complex organization or global cross-functional environment.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

The annual salary range for this role is $85,000 - $95,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
