Job Description
The Carpenter Framer on second shift constructs and assembles wall panels, floor systems, and roof structures in a manufacturing construction setting. This role focuses on precise wood framing, accurate interpretation of blueprints and plans, and safe operation of hand and power tools to deliver high-quality modular construction components on time and to specification.
Responsibilities
Construct and assemble wall panels, floor systems, and roof structures using wood and other framing materials.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate layout and execution of framing work.
Install framing components including studs, joists, rafters, and sheathing with precision and efficiency.
Use framing tools such as nail guns, saws, levels, tape measures, and other measuring devices safely and effectively.
Perform rough and finish carpentry tasks, including trim work, doors, cabinetry, and wood framing as needed.
Operate hand and power tools correctly while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Collaborate with supervisors and other trades to meet project timelines and quality standards in a manufacturing or modular building environment.
Follow building codes, safety regulations, and structural requirements in all aspects of construction.
Assist with general labor tasks related to construction and installation as required.
Support installation and finishing activities, including basic painting and construction finishing work where applicable.
Essential Skills
At least 3 years of framing experience in residential or modular construction.
Journeyman-level framing carpentry experience with a minimum of 3 years in the trade.
Strong understanding of framing techniques, materials, and structural principles.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications accurately.
Proficiency with framing tools such as nail guns, saws, levels, tape measures, and other measuring devices.
Skilled in rough carpentry and wood framing, including installation of studs, joists, rafters, and sheathing.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Consistent focus on safety and adherence to construction safety practices and procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Journeyman-level carpentry credentials or equivalent experience in framing carpentry.
Experience in a manufacturing or modular building environment is a plus.
Experience with finish carpentry, including trim work, doors, cabinetry, and construction finishing.
Comfort using a wide range of hand tools and power tools for carpentry and installation tasks.
Familiarity with new construction processes and general construction labor activities.
Ability to perform basic painting and construction touch-up work when needed.
Demonstrated strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to craftsmanship and quality.
Ability to maintain an organized work area and contribute to efficient production workflows.
Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing construction setting focused on residential and modular building components. You work primarily on the second shift, Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with occasional half-day Saturdays as needed. The environment is hands-on and production-oriented, involving regular use of hand and power tools such as nail guns, saws, levels, tape measures, and other carpentry equipment. Work takes place in a shop or plant environment where maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace is essential, and you collaborate closely with other trades and supervisors to meet production goals and quality standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $32.00/hr.
