Job Title: Carpenter Framer – First Shift

Job Description

This role focuses on constructing and assembling structural framing components for modular construction in a manufacturing setting. You will build wall panels, floor systems, and roof structures using wood and other framing materials, ensuring all work meets quality, safety, and structural standards. The position requires strong framing expertise, precise blueprint reading, and safe operation of hand and power tools while working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

  • Construct and assemble wall panels, floor systems, and roof structures using wood and other framing materials.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate layout and execution of framing work.

  • Install framing components including studs, joists, rafters, and sheathing with precision and efficiency.

  • Measure, cut, and fit materials accurately using tape measures, saws, and other framing tools.

  • Operate hand and power tools such as nail guns, saws, drills, and levels safely and effectively.

  • Perform rough and finish carpentry tasks, including trim work, doors, cabinetry, and wood framing as needed.

  • Assist with installation tasks related to new construction and modular building projects.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in a manufacturing construction environment.

  • Collaborate with supervisors and other trades to meet project timelines and quality standards.

  • Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and structural requirements.

  • Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications.

  • Support general labor tasks related to framing and construction as required.

Essential Skills

  • At least 3 years of framing experience in new residential or modular construction.

  • Journeyman-level framing carpentry experience with a minimum of 3 years in the trade.

  • Strong understanding of framing techniques, materials, and structural principles.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

  • Skilled in using framing tools such as nail guns, saws, levels, tape measures, and other measuring devices.

  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively in a construction environment.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.

  • Solid work ethic with a focus on safety and quality craftsmanship.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or modular building environment is a plus.

  • Experience with both rough and finish carpentry, including trim work and wood framing.

  • Ability to perform general construction tasks such as installation, painting, and cabinetry when required.

  • Comfort working from and verifying measurements using tape measures and other measuring tools.

  • Familiarity with reading and applying information from detailed blueprints.

  • Willingness to work occasional half-day Saturdays as needed to support project schedules

Work Environment

The position is based in a manufacturing construction setting focused on residential and modular building projects. You work primarily on a first shift from Monday to Friday, 6am - 2:30pm, with occasional half-day Saturdays as needed. The environment is hands-on and production-oriented, involving frequent use of hand and power tools such as nail guns, saws, drills, and measuring devices. You will work around wood framing materials, sheathing, doors, trim, and cabinetry components in an active shop floor setting where safety, organization, and cleanliness are essential.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
