Summary:The company is seeking an experienced Field Safety Technician to support daily safety operations at a TWIC regulated Client and DOT industrial facility. This is a hands-on, field intensive safety role focused on coaching personnel, reinforcing safe work practices, and supporting high hazard operations across the site, including pipelines and compressor station areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Safety and Health programs under the direction of the Safety and Health Supervisor.
- Serve as a visible safety presence in the field, coaching employees and contractors in daily safe work practices.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, contractors, and subcontractors across all departments.
- Assist with execution of the company's SSHandE programs, including Start Work Checks, toolbox talks, and last minute risk assessments.
- Perform hazard identification walks, safety observations, and assist in resolving findings.
- Conduct routine safety walks in highhazard areas of the Client/DOT facility.
- Participate in incident investigations, corrective actions, and follow-up when assigned.
- Support and administer site safety recognition and reward initiatives.
- Assist with site work permitting, including elevated work, crane lifts, confined space, excavation, LOTO, and other highrisk activities.
Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of safety experience in industrial environments.
- Associate's degree in Occupational Safety and Health OR equivalent field experience.
- OSHA 30 and OSHA 510 certifications (or higher).
- Hands-on experience with lifting and rigging, crane operations, confined space, working at heights, and other critical safety activities.
- Strong knowledge of work permitting for elevated work, crane lifts, confined space, excavation, and LOTO.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable speaking with large groups.
- Solid organizational and time management abilities.
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Ability to walk extensively, climb stairs and ladders, and work in demanding industrial environments.
- Comfortable working in high stress, high hazard Client/DOT operational settings.
- Must pass preemployment and ongoing random drug/alcohol testing.
- TWIC required for access to the Client/DOT facility.
- Valid state driver's license and reliable transportation.
Education:HS Diploma or GED required.
Work Schedule:M-F, 6:00am - 3:30pm (with occasional weekend OT) This position is 80% field / 20% permit office, and will transition to temporary shiftwork for 6-12 weeks in late 2026 during Train 2 startup preparations before returning to a standard weekday schedule.
