TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice.
They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp.
The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Digital Model, Performance Simulation, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements.
They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product.
Typical fields of expertise include materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.
Your main tasks:
You will be focused on the Industrial Control Panel used within the industrial markets and will interface with customers globally to understand how their systems function, modularization level and determine their evolving technology needs.
Combine Technology- and Application-expertise to generate system architecture requirements and together with cross functional teams help ensure the technology and product roadmaps are in line with customer next generation products as well as short-term and long-term (>3-5 year) technology and market trends.
Analyze and weigh primary drivers of TE product/technology gap, predict the best solution to address the gap.
Will also participate and drive TE strategy at standards, influence industry trends and standards to align with TE strategy.

Leading the Competitor Benchmark activities

Your ideal profile:
Engineering Degree (MaSc \ BaSc) with minimal 10y of relevant experience. Having a dual bachelor’s degree in business or MBA is a plus.
5+ years’ experience in product-line and/or component supplier industry system design and related technologies
Knowledge and experience with relevant standards, like:
Industrial Control Panels UL 508A, CSA C22.2 No. 286
Industrial Electrical Machinery, like IEC 60204-1 and\or NFPA 79, C22.2 No. 301
