Purpose
:
Die maintenance and tooling change within dies used in the production process.
Set-up of die in press and prepare for operation.
Position Prerequisite:
Must meet the following requirements:
1.
Complies with all rules and regulations of Clark Pulley Industries and actively contribute to workplace safety.
2.
Displays a high degree of attention to detail.
3.
Displays excellent attendance.
4.
Ability to accurately use linear and dial calipers, outside micrometers, inside micrometers, depth micrometers, optical comparator, radius gauges, clearance gauges, etc.
5.
Ability to operate at minimum a 5,000 lb weight limit forklift efficiently.
6.
Accurately follows verbal and written work instructions.
7.
Displays ability to be proactive in completing task without supervision.
8.
Initiative to ensure dies are prepared and ready to meet production schedules.
9.
Interacts in a positive and cooperative manner in all dealings with co-workers and management.
10.
Actively participates in training; stays current and in compliance with required annual safety training.
11.
Supports manufacturing improvement programs and initiatives.
Offers and helps implement improvement suggestions.
12.
Maintains a clean, orderly and safe working environment; wears and utilizes all PPE required for each job.
13.
Displays appropriate sense of urgency in communicating concerns (safety, quality, etc.).
14.
Cross-trains in order to perform all tasks in job rotation.
15.
Works overtime, including weekends and holidays, as required.
Essential Functions
Required but not limited to:
1.
Performs basic die maintenance and safety checks as prescribed.
2.
Following prescribed guidelines, measurement of die components to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
3.
Repairs or replaces die tooling to ensure compliance to tool specifications.
4.
Use of machinery to sharpen die tooling or components,
5.
Cleans, inspects and prepares die setup, prior to use in production.
6.
Mounts, installs, aligns, and secures die components, using hand tools and precision measuring devices.
7.
Loads, unloads, and adjusts placement of die in the press, loading of raw steel in machine in order to verify acceptability of processed component of the die.
8.
Makes necessary adjustments to machine controls, material and process to provide the desired results.
9.
Maintains clean work area.

1.
Tool and Die position has met or exceeded performance standards and successfully completed all training required for this position.
2.
Measuring and Mathematical Skills
a.
Accurately adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides.
b.
Ability to verify die tooling using description and/or blueprints.
c.
Demonstrates proficiency in blueprint reading.
d.
Produces accurate results when using precision measuring instruments (Linear and dial calipers, micrometers, depth micrometers, optical comparator, etc.).

Physical Requirements and Manual Dexterity
a.
Constant standing throughout shift, with occasional walking.
b.
Frequent bending, lifting, and/or carrying throughout shift.
c.
May lift up to 50 pounds on an intermittent basis.
d.
Manual positioning or shifting of die tooling with weights of 100 - 200 lbs.
e.
Effective use of appropriate basic tool and die hand tools.
f. The worker must have visual acuity to operate machines, where the machinery, equipment and work piece are up to 72 inches away. The worker is required
