Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Project Manager. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel Program This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You'll Get To Do:
Project Managers serve as the primary liaison between projects and stakeholders, regularly reviewing status, managing schedules, and preparing reports. They apply their knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques across all project phases—Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing—to deliver projects on time, within scope, on budget, and with high quality. Their core duties include developing and maintaining comprehensive project plans that encompass such items as work breakdown structures, detailed schedules, cost estimates, and resource allocations, while continuously monitoring progress, tracking performance, and reporting status. They also identify, assess, and mitigate risks and opportunities, ensuring compliance with standards such as Earned Value Management and aligning deliverables with Northrop Grumman requirements. In addition to technical competencies, Project Managers must demonstrate strong soft skill capabilities. Effective communication, leadership, problem solving, and negotiation are essential for managing stakeholder expectations and supporting team members. They are expected to uphold company values, make business savvy decisions, and foster collaboration, all of which keep projects aligned with organizational goals and ensure successful outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Knowledge, Skills and Ability: Frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards. General application of concepts, and principles. Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform moderately complex professional tasks.
Problem Solving: Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
Discretion/Latitude: Works under only very general supervision. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.
Impact: Contributes to the completion of organizational projects and goals. Errors in judgement or failure to achieve results would normally require a moderate expenditure of resources to rectify.
Liaison: Frequent internal company and external contacts. Represents organization on specific projects. May make presentations to small groups.
This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience; master's degree and 0 years’ experience; or an additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
Must be a U.S citizen and have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
At least 1 year of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.
Demonstrated track record/ experience in project management/ execution and closeout.
Skilled use of Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project).
Demonstrated knowledge of Project Management principles.
Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
Ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers.
Experience planning, scheduling, and managing projects with many different stakeholders.
Experience developing content, packaging, and briefing communication.
Preferred Qualifications:
PMP Certification.
Firm understanding and application of Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance.
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization and with outside organizations.
1 year of experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles and application or as a Cost Account Manager (CAM).
Experience with establishing Strategy, Roadmap, Vision artifacts.
Primary Level Salary Range: $65,500.00 - $98,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
