ROUND ROCK CARDIOLOGY Scheduling Specialist in Round Rock, Texas
Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients, visitors, and healthcare providers in a courteous and professional manner
- Manage patient scheduling, confirm appointments, and coordinate follow-up visits
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and route messages accurately
- Maintain patient records, both electronic and paper, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collect and process patient information, including insurance details, medical history, and consent forms
- Facilitate communication between patients, providers, and clinical staff
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and documents as needed
- Assist with billing, payment collection, and insurance verification
- Order and maintain office supplies and forms
- Support physicians and clinical staff with administrative tasks
- Monitor and resolve issues related to patient flow and office operations
- Assist with special projects or other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in medical administration preferred
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting strongly desired
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficient with electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office suite
- Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance processes
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Professional demeanor and reliability
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility in adapting to changing office needs
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the office for extended periods
- Manual dexterity required for keyboarding and filing
