Double JJ Resort Banquet Server in Rothbury, Michigan

Summary:

The purpose of this position is to interact with guests and ensure they have great experiences when attending an event at Double JJ Resort. Banquet Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions while serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. A Banquet Server will follow through with the proper, timely set up, and execution of banquet events. Set up includes tables, chairs, stages, dance floors, and audiovisual equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO's) at the beginning of each shift to ensure room are set as contracted. Confirm and setup A/V equipment needs to contract for the event.
  • Prepare rooms for use; adjusting lights, sound volumes, and temperature as needed for before guests arrive.
  • Be in communication with the lead catering staff regarding any special needs.
  • Assist in ensuring that the events are on time. Make adjustments as needed and relay that information to the appropriate personnel.
  • Communicate any areas of need, problems, and concerns from guest to Banquet Manager.
  • If no upcoming events, have rooms in a readiness position for any possible site inspections. Ensure that meeting rooms are re-set for next event contract if it is within one day of previous event.
  • Keep inventory of all Conference Center equipment in order and stored in their appropriate areas.
  • Work with Guest Services to transport any and all items needed for an outdoor event not within the Conference Center and tent areas.
  • Provide all group guests with a lasting experience of the resort with intent of return business.
  • Maintain proper dining experience, deliver items, fulfill customer needs, remove courses, replenish utensils, and refill glasses.
  • Deliver alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for service to your guest's table.
  • Properly open and pour wine at the tableside.
  • Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
  • Understand and communicate products and services available at the resort.
  • Communicate guest needs/requests with the Catering Chef and kitchen staff.

Hourly Wage:

$14/hr
