Front Counter Associate

Interstate Lanes is looking for a reliable, energetic Front Counter Associate to join our team! As the first point of contact for our guests, you'll play a key role in delivering a fun, smooth, and welcoming bowling experience.

Position Overview

The Front Counter Associate is responsible for assisting guests in person and over the phone, managing lane assignments, handling payments, and coordinating communication between departments. This role requires strong multitasking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm under pressure, especially during busy peak hours.

Summer Hours: Tuesday--Saturday, 12:00 PM -- 10:00 PM

Closing shifts are required as part of this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist guests with lane reservations, walk-ins, and general inquiries
• Operate point-of-sale (POS) system for transactions and bookings
• Answer phones professionally and efficiently
• Both cold and warm calls to drive league development
• Make clear and confident announcements over the microphone
• Handle cash, count drawers, and maintain accurate financial records
• Communicate effectively with snack bar, bar, and back-end staff to ensure smooth operations
• Provide direction and support to other team members when needed
• Assist with closing duties, including balancing drawers and securing the front desk area
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front counter area

Qualifications

• Strong guest service skills (both in person and on the phone)
• Ability to work well under pressure in a high-volume environment
• Willingness to learn and adapt quickly
• Previous experience with POS systems preferred
• Comfortable handling money, counting drawers, and basic math
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
• Confident speaking over a microphone for announcements
• Comfortable giving clear direction to team members across departments
• General knowledge of bowling is a plus
