FasTest Inc Mechanical Design Engineer in Roseville, Minnesota
Job Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Mechanical Design Engineering:
• Develop new products given a concept. {ie..Layout, detail, prototype, test, release and provide support to production.)
• Research, design and develop new specialty connector component products or assemblies at an Engineering level. Calculating FEA, DOE, FMEA, etc.
• Process designs including detailing prints, procurement of prototypes, and all documentation.
• Create and maintain solid models and work within the CAD / CAD Management environment
• Standard test development and execution for reliability engineering with follow-up analysis.
• Design products for custom applications {as required). Coordinate the procurement, manufacturing and testing of these products.
• Create layouts of product enhancements to support value-engineering activities. Perform basic cost analysis to support decision making.
• Benchmark competitive designs, materials and function. Research and recommend processes, and material selections.
• Document and record all aspects of product development.
• Perform other project related assignments as required.
Commercialization of products:
• Be responsible for BOM accuracy, releasing drawings, and keeping schedule on track.
• Prepare documentation and conduct design reviews and release meetings as required.
• Assess training needs, develop training material, and provide training and coaching to manufacturing staff as needed.
• Communicate design status on a regular basis, including but not limited to status-based steps of the FasTest Development Process.
• Provide support and training for new and existing products.
Continuing Engineering:
• Lead/Participate in and be a resource to cross-functional teams to improve product concepts, product design and quality.
• Travel as required to support products, find new opportunities, evaluate markets, and support all FasTest functions.
Infrastructure:
• Actively seek out improvement opportunities to streamline processes and reduce costs.
• RGA / Product issues evaluation, analysis, disposition for Corrective Action / Preventative Action.
• Serve as resource to other team members and designers.
• Independently manage projects through completion.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
Minimum Education Required
BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering
