Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Scale Operator to join our team on a contract basis in Rosemount, Minnesota. The Scale Operator is responsible for weighing and recording all incoming and outgoing trucks and materials. The role is transactional and highly detail-oriented, requiring strong communication skills to interact with drivers and internal teams. Operations are based in the Scale House (a small, casual work area with a drive-up window).
Responsibilities:
Operate computerized scales to accurately weigh trucks and materials
Log and maintain weigh ticket information (material, weight, vehicle, customer details)
Greet and direct drivers/visitors to proper loading/unloading areas
Verify material contents and ensure compliance with company regulations
Generate and track necessary paperwork for transactions
Communicate effectively with truck drivers, customers, and internal teams
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized scale house environment
Assist with basic customer service and administrative tasks
Support safety, environmental, and quality standards
Requirements
•High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
• Strong computer skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor conditions.
• Commitment to safety and following procedures.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with incoming trucks.
• Familiarity with logistics software or systems is a plus.
• High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
