GENERAL FUNCTION:
Responsible for leading the ABL portfolio management and operations functions with enterprise-level accountability for portfolio performance, risk outcomes and operational effectiveness. Provides oversight of retention, amendment, renewal strategies, and determining acceptable risk management strategies including driving exit/workout strategies across the ABL Portfolio. This position is a leader of leaders and will manage a team Portfolio Team leads and the ABL Operations Manager.
Responsible and accountable for risk by fostering open exchange ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for exercising sound judgement and consistently acting in the best interests of our customers, associates and the Bank. Ensures that our processes, actions and behaviors drive a collaborative approach with Regional and Corporate and Investment Banking partners to deliver a positive customer experience, while operating within the Bank's established risk appetite. Achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as primary escalation point for portfolio teams providing senior level guidance, review and support to Portfolio Team Leads and Portfolio Managers in the servicing and oversight of client relationships.
Provides insight to aid in developing and executing appropriate strategies for problem clients.
Design and oversees measurable performance goals for Portfolio Managers that align with the Bank’s overall commercial credit approach to ensure timely execution of responsibilities, achievement of retention objectives, minimization of credit losses, effective client coverage, timely client visits, and proactive management of compliance violations are addressed as validated by performing periodic performance reviews.
Ensure all ABL portfolio management and operations reporting processes are efficient and timely and the underlying data is accurate, and, all are maintained within acceptable tolerances set by ABL Head and Bank’s senior commercial, credit and risk management leadership.
Support head of ABL in process optimization and digitization efforts to drive greater efficiency and improved gearing in portfolio management and operations.
Provide guidance on pricing strategies, covenants, waivers, amendments, forbearances, and overall credit structure to reduce risk to the Bank, while serving the client.
Assist senior bank management and the Head of ABL with special requests.
Provide direction to commercial lenders with their problem loans, structures, and assist in transferring those accounts to ABL when required by the Credit Risk department
Responsible for identifying negative trends early and strategize best solutions for bank, through analysis of trend cards, review of credit write-ups and watch asset reports. Review, approve and present all watch asset reports ofhisteam to the bank watch asset committee.
Develops and maintains internal relationships following established processes and procedures, and be a more senior point of contact to customer relationships.
Be able to offer legal strategies and understand legal ramifications of certain credit decisions or aspects of the loan relationship expert on the accounts and their legal and credit file.
Manage and train Portfolio Managers, developing new talent, and ensure existing talent is utilized productively and continues to learn and develop further.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for providing employees timely, candid, and constructive performance feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in finance, accounting, or business. Advanced degree in business or Law would be a plus.
20 years of experience in ABL Portfolio Management and field examination, with extensive experience in liquidation, workouts, restructuring and client retention and contact. Strong understanding of the legal environment underpinning ABL, including but not limited to, knowledge of contract law, the Uniform Commercial Code, and federal bankruptcy laws. Strong knowledge financial statement analytical and accounting skills are required, as well as experience in understanding fine pointsinlending against various types of collateral.
Thorough understanding and knowledge of large syndicated transactions both as an Agent and as a participant.
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to communicate well to employees, clients and to others within the bank.
Knowledge of computers systems including Microsoft Office suite and proprietary software products used in support of the business.
Working Conditions and Demands (If Applicable):
Valid and current driver's license required for travel to meet with prospects and customers.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature, and the like.
Extended time at desk and/or viewing computer screen.
Some travel required.

Total Base Pay Range 155,100.00 - 333,500.00 USD Annual
