Position Summary
This position is responsible for the setup, operation, and preventative maintenance of Fastener Manufacturing equipment to produce according to quality specifications safely. This is a 2nd shift position. The hours are 215pm – 1045 pm, Monday – Friday.
Primary Responsibilities
Performs setup and operates a variety of in-lined equipment to cold head, point and thread-roll fasteners for commercial construction applications.
Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on equipment, including preventive maintenance tasks.
Performs quality checks in adherence to specifications sheets including first piece approval; will also be responsible for documentation.
Drives safety practices and procedures including identifying safety hazards.
Analyze and troubleshoot production and equipment failures.
Perform full inspection of all incoming tooling.
Responsible for monitoring the performance of production equipment and supporting implementation of upgrades and enhancements to equipment and fixtures.
Assist with the installation of equipment as needed.
Ensures all housekeeping practices and procedures are met.
Performs 6-S activities and improvements as required.
Conducts final inspections of all finished products and signs off on compliance with specifications.
Works with and trains other team members and participates in team events and meetings.
Must be willing and able to work as machine operator running lines.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
At least five years of experience in high-volume manufacturing (e.g., equipment setup/operation/changeover, use of measurement tools and knowledge of preventive maintenance)
Willing to work assigned shift with some mandatory overtime including weekends
Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics and following instructions.
Prior experience with hand tools (e.g., wrenches)
Ability to recognize and identify parts, problems, and offer resolution
Must be able to work in a team environment
Must have reliable transportation as this job may require travel between Roselle and Itasca facilities
Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
General housekeeping duties
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be exposed to fumes, heat and dust, climate variances and moving mechanical equipment typically found in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is high when exposed to the manufacturing areas. Certain personal protective equipment is required when in the manufacturing areas. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to be present and walk through an active construction site in various weather conditions. Be able to follow and use specific job site safety equipment and procedures. Must be able to handle various company products such as steel products, tools, and construction chemicals while following proper safety guidelines established by the company. Ability to hear safety noises in the facility as well. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.

Base hourly range for this position is $29.00 – 33.00, plus applicable shift differential of $2.00. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
