Job Title: Deburring Machine Operator

Job Description

The Deburring Machine Operator is responsible for effectively removing burrs from plastic and metal gearing using various tools such as brushes, red wheels, files, and other necessary equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand job traveler work instructions regarding deburring processes.

  • Utilize filing, brushing, and other methods to remove burrs from gears.

  • File parts on the lathe and use the buffer as required.

  • Understand machinery capabilities and limitations.

  • Fill out all necessary paperwork accurately.

  • Count parts accurately and input time per job.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.

  • Handle parts with care to prevent damage.

  • Communicate effectively with team members.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in deburring, especially on the third shift with a skeleton crew.

  • Previous industrial or manufacturing experience.

  • Attention to detail in all tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of all departmental machine capabilities.

  • Material handling skills.

  • Ability to grasp parts against the burr wheel.

  • Perform visual inspections using the eye loop, naked eye, and other inspection tools.

Work Environment

Work in a dynamic environment characterized by loud noise levels and occasional exposure to fumes, odors, dusts, and gases. Be mindful of moving mechanical parts. The company operates two shifts: the first shift runs from 6am to 4:30pm, and the second 'third' shift runs from 10pm to 6am, Sunday through Thursday, with no work on Fridays. Employees on the third shift receive a 15% shift premium.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roscoe, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $22.00/hr.
