Indium Corporation Manufacturing Process Engineer I in Rome, New York
JOB SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Process Engineer I is responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting optimized manufacturing processes. This includes performing data and material analysis required to improve efficiency and product flow, determine root causes, or provide other process insight. Assignments are generally less complex and are limited in scope and risk .
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES):
Apply fundamental engineering concepts, practices, and procedures to assigned projects
Develop and implement optimized, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with customer, product or process specifications, quality requirements, and standards, while following a structured, in-house developmental process
Follow disciplined product/process development and change control methods
Develop manufacturing processes by understanding product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; and conferring with equipment vendors
Provide hands-on technical support and training for manufacturing processes and personnel
Review/approve requirements conveyed on customer prints and specifications to ensure clarity, comprehensiveness, and manufacturability. Accurately convey all customer-specific requirements on applicable manufacturing documentation to ensure that - - - Production and Quality teams have visibility of the requirements
Improve manufacturing processes and methods to drive cost reductions, quality improvements, and process efficiency into the factory Author complete and comprehensive documentation, including, but not limited to, engineering design documents and drawings, operating procedures, and work instructions according to established quality management standards
Evaluate and analyze process data to drive efficiency into the process or determine root cause and corrective actions
Apply statistical process control and Lean manufacturing principles
Provide input to project cost estimates, timelines, and milestones
Keep team members and leaders updated on project status, issues, and risk mitigation items
Function as an effective team member through collaboration, conflict resolution, encouragement, respectful interactions with co-workers, active listening, etc.
Work independently on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field OR Associate degree in a technical field AND a professional certificate in an engineering, sciences, or technical discipline
Hands-on mechanical knowledge and experience
Communicates in a clear, organized, and professional manner in both written and oral form
Electrical and/or software development knowledge is a plus
Provide own source of transportation for any local/day travel, including travel between Indium Corporation facilities

WAGE DISCLOSURE:
The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the range for the position. The actual range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, and internal equity.
The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package. Other components include health, dental, and vision insurance, PTO, retirement plan, volunteer opportunities, paid holidays, overtime opportunities, and many more.
$62,500 - $85,000 annually
