Job Description:
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated R&D Engineer to develop next-generation reconstruction and analysis algorithms for advanced X-ray CT imaging systems.
This role sits at the intersection of:
Computational imaging
Machine learning
Physics-based modeling
High-performance computing
You will design, implement, and validate production-ready reconstruction pipelines that improve image quality, speed, robustness, and automation. This position combines hands-on algorithm development, experimental validation, and cross-functional collaboration to translate research concepts into real-world, deployable solutions.
What You’ll Do
Develop and optimize advanced reconstruction algorithms for X-ray CT and related imaging modalities
Design physics-based and data-driven reconstruction pipelines
Implement machine learning and deep learning approaches for reconstruction, artifact reduction, and image enhancement
Solve inverse problems using advanced numerical optimization techniques
Build high-performance implementations using GPU acceleration (CUDA) and parallel computing methods
Process and analyze large-scale 3D volumetric datasets
Prototype new algorithmic concepts and transition them into production software
Design and execute simulation and experimental validation studies
Collaborate closely with hardware, applications, and software engineering teams
Document algorithms, validation results, and software modules clearly and thoroughly
Contribute to technical publications, patents, white papers, or internal innovation initiatives
Present technical findings internally and externally, including at conferences when appropriate
What You Bring:
Master’s degree and/or relevant work experience in technical field:
Computer Science
Electrical Engineering
Applied Mathematics
Imaging Science
Computational Physics
Experience with modern ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)
Experience processing and analyzing 3D or volumetric datasets
Strong understanding of:
Inverse problems
Numerical optimization
Signal and/or image processing
Experience with GPU programming and CUDA
Proficiency in Python and/or C++ Strong analytical thinking and experimental validation skills
Helpful (But Not Required):
We recognize that strong candidates may not meet every listed qualification. Additional experience that may be beneficial includes:
Experience with tomographic reconstruction methods (e.g., FBP, iterative reconstruction)
Background in computational physics or imaging system modeling
Experience transitioning research code into production environments
Publication or patent experience
Familiarity with high-performance computing environments

Compensation Information:
Compensation for this position ranges from $85,000 - $110,000, based on education and experience.
