Primary Duties

  • Handle movement of polymer materials from one machine to the next. Ability to move flat material sizes up to 50" x 80" is a must

  • Create and process printing plates using digital or manual imaging methods according to job specifications.

  • Use specialized equipment such as imagesetters, plate processors, and exposure units to produce high-quality plates.

  • Check for defects, registration accuracy, and image clarity before releasing plates for pressroom use.

  • Understand customer requirements, layouts, and specifications provided on work orders or job tickets.

  • Manage raw plate materials, chemicals, and supplies, ensuring proper storage and minimal waste.

  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of plate-making machinery to ensure consistent output.

  • Document plate specifications, production times, and maintenance logs for quality control and tracking.

  • Communicate with prepress operators and pressroom staff to ensure seamless production workflows and resolve issues.

  • Use PPE, handle chemicals safely, and adhere to company and regulatory safety protocols.

  • Manage time efficiently to meet production deadlines and minimize press downtime.

  • Inspect plates for adherence to quality standards and customer specifications

  • Prepare packages for shipping while attending to special customer requirements

  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc

  • Handle multiple jobs in various production stages

  • Adhere to quality control procedures

  • Ability to multitask and work in deadline orientated environment

  • Visual acuity to written material and plate detail

  • The use of ordinary hand tools, and a strong understanding of various measuring tools and the physical ability to lift is essential, as is a dedication to quality

Requirements

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), and Outlook email and calendar capabilities.

  • Experience and understanding of the flexo plate making process preferred

  • Prior experience in a printing environment is beneficial

  • Maintains strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is required

  • Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.

  • Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.

  • Self-confident, self-motivated polished professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment
