BAE Systems Documentation Control Specialist in Rockville, Maryland

Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a Document Control Specialist to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. The ideal candidate will have experience with managing classified technical documents to include Controlled Unclassified Information, NATO Confidential, NATO Secret, Confidential, S/FRD, Secret, and TS. Familiarity of Military Specifications and Standards and management of Navy Joint Nuclear Weapons Publications to include Special Weapons Ordnance Publications (SWOP) as well as DOD Publications. Ability to enter and manage daily data entry using a Microsoft created database.

There is no relocation assistance for this position. If relocation is necessary, the selected candidate must be willing to relocate at his/her own expense.

Key Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Functionally provide direct oversight of classified inventory within facility.

  2. Monitor the control and accountability of over 18,000 individual pieces of media including hard drives, electronic and hard copy materials.

  3. Prepare and deliver administrative reports as required, such as media destruction reports, classified material receipts, logging of new classified documents, creating cover sheets.

  4. Prepare classified documents either being hand carried or mailed out of facility.

  5. Track and report Technical Library program progress to security

  6. Initiate recurring and random material audits and keep the manager informed of all pertinent issues in the Technical Library

  7. Review and understand classified markings for correctness

  8. Develop and update various Standard Operating Procedures, checklist, and forms.

  9. Ability to interface with our internal and external customers.

  10. Track Classified Container locations, track combo access, and change combos as needed.

  11. Track Library Deliverables against suspense dates related to process review and changes.

  12. Maintain Security scheduling for monthly checks and audits.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Education and years of related/relevant work experience required: Bachelor's Degree and 2 years related/relevant work experience or equivalent edcuation and related/relevant work experience is required:

Additional skills/experience required:

  • SECNAV 5510 (series) and NISPOM familiarity

  • Document control experience

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

  • Ability to learn new skills involving evolving tasks

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Access, Project, Visio)

  • Attention to detail

  • Team oriented

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Knowledge of Strategic Systems Programs Organization

  • Experience with the following management tools/data bases: ACCESS, SIMS

  • Derivative classification experience

  • Technical writing/editing, including grammar skills

  • Familiar with updating web pages

  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $67406 - $114590

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
