Automated Precision Inc Calibration Technician (Rockville, MD) in Rockville, Maryland
Automated Precision Inc. is seeking a Calibration Technician to join our calibration lab in Rockville, MD. This position plays a critical role in supporting our high-precision metrology lab by performing in-house calibration and assisting with the repair of laser-based measurement systems. Responsibilities: • Receive and check in customer equipment for calibration • Calibrate high-precision laser trackers and other instruments per documented procedures • Complete accurate documentation (digital and/or paper) for all work performed • Assist with proper packaging and shipment of equipment to customers • Maintain a clean, safe, and temperature-controlled lab environment • Support the shipment of equipment to and from field engineers and customers • Communicate inventory needs to Supervisor/Manager • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction
Requirements:
• Associate degree or equivalent • Coursework or interest in mechatronics, electronics, or mechanical systems preferred • Experience with optical or electro-mechanical assembly a plus • Familiarity with measurement tools (e.g., calipers, multimeters, micrometers) • Understanding of calibration traceability and industry best practices • Basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel • Attention to details • Effective written and verbal communication
