Job Title: Building Engineer 3/Stationary Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Building Engineer 3/Stationary Engineer to join our team. There are two openings available, with shifts from 7am-3:30pm and 3pm-11:30pm. Initial training will occur on the first shift for 1-3 months before transitioning to the second shift. Candidates must possess a Maryland 3rd Grade Stationary Engineer License or a DC equivalent, with six months to reciprocate to Maryland. This is an opportunity to grow towards obtaining an MD 1st Grade Stationary Engineer License.
Responsibilities
Complete work orders and perform preventative maintenance.
Occasionally work shifts in the Central Utility Plant under supervision.
Inspect equipment to detect routine malfunctions.
Read meters and gauges, perform tests, and record data.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Must have Maryland 3rd Grade Stationary Engineer License or DC 3rd equivalent.
Valid Driver's License.
High School Diploma or GED required.
5 years of trades experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified; 7 years preferred.
Certification required in 4 of any building systems, or 20 years of experience may substitute for certifications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in troubleshooting, HVAC, boilers, VAV systems, electrical, plumbing, plumbing fixtures, piping, and gas fitting.
Journeyman License in Plumbing, HVAC, or Electric is preferred.

Work Environment
The role involves considerable physical activity, requiring heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds. The work environment may expose employees to potentially dangerous materials, extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, and loud noises. Adherence to extensive safety precautions and the use of protective equipment is essential.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $40.00/hr.
