Transportation Driver Temporary
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED; supplemented by some experience driving transport vehicles; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
- Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Level 2 background screening and drug test.
- Valid Florida drivers license with a clean driving record
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with disability-service and multi-division organizations.
- Two years experience driving individuals in a transport vehicle.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
SUMMARY:
Provides transportation for BAC participants to and from their home or HUB locations to their work or training sites.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The list of essential functions below is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this job. Other duties may be assigned based on business need.
- Provides safe and timely transportation of BAC participants to their scheduled destinations; remains flexible regarding the daily schedule due to changes in participant needs or traffic issues and/or inclement weather.
- Maintains a clean and safe transportation vehicle and work area
- Complete a pre and post inspection of the vehicle.
- Comply with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner.
- Refuels transportation vehicles with gas as needed; maintains security of the gas card and turns in all gas receipts.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date participant travel and vehicle logs.
- Maintains updated inventory of materials and equipment to ensure the smooth operation of transportation activities.
- Complete accident reports when necessary.
- Maintain knowledge of first-aid procedures.
- Operate vehicles with specialized equipment, such as wheelchair lifts, to transport and assist passengers as needed.
- Communicates on a professional level with contract personnel, relays pertinent information to the Transportation Program Administrator.

TRAVEL
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of area and overnight travel may be expected.
WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE(IF APPLICABLE)
Must be authorized to access and work on government installations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Depending on the functional area of the assignment, tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort usually involving some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials lightweight (up to 20 pounds). Have good fine motor skills and reflexes, eyesight, and hearing.
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Tasks are regularly performed inside without exposure to adverse environmental conditions (example: dirt, cold, heat, rain, fumes).
SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Some tasks require manual dexterity, in addition to visual and hearing acuity.
Availability:Monday- Friday; Full Time Temporary Position
Salary/Rate of Pay:$17 an hour
