Aerotek Machine Operator in Rockford, Illinois

Job Title: Machine Operator Job Description

The Machine Operator will oversee the operation of multiple CNC Milling machines, including Doosan, Haas, and Kia models. This role requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints to inspect parts using gauges, micrometers, and calipers. Operators will manage two machines simultaneously, primarily performing tasks such as drilling, tapping, boring, and turning.

Responsibilities

  • Operate multiple CNC Milling machines efficiently.

  • Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate part production.

  • Inspect parts using gauges, micrometers, and calipers.

  • Perform drilling, tapping, boring, and turning operations.

  • Load and unload materials and perform sanding and deburring.

  • Make tool adjustments as necessary.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in operating CNC Mill or Lathe machines.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

  • Experience with micrometers, gauges, and calipers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Doosan, Haas, and Kia machines is advantageous.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment

The position is on the first shift, from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, in a climate-controlled, well-lit, and organized facility. The main building hosts 24 employees during the day and 18 during the second shift, while the west building has 17-18 employees during the day and 4 on the second shift. The work environment primarily involves general manufacturing with numerous CNC Milling machines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
