As an Elite / Lead Field Service Technician , you are the expert customers trust when operations become complex or mission‑critical. You’ll work with advanced electrical, instrumentation, and control systems; guide junior technicians; and serve as a technical leader across multiple locations and customer sites.

You will represent Xylem with professionalism, initiative, and deep technical competency — ensuring equipment reliability, system performance, and customer confidence at every step.

?️ What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll drive high‑level field service operations including:

  • ⚙️ Initiate and execute field service activities at customer sites safely and efficiently.

  • ? Work with advanced and multi‑system setups , including electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.

  • ? Proactively troubleshoot complex issues to ensure continuous system reliability.

  • ? Perform preventative maintenance , manage parts inventory, and identify/correct safety issues across company‑owned and customer‑owned equipment

  • ? Directly interface with customers, sometimes across multiple sites and system types.

  • ? Work independently with minimal supervision, while providing coaching, guidance, and leadership to others in the field.

This role has a strong leadership component — you’re not just solving problems, you’re improving systems and elevating the people around you.

? Location & Travel

  • Location: Rockford, Illinois

  • Travel: 20%–60% daily depending on division and workload (may include overnight travel)

  • Work environment: Field‑based, customer‑facing, high‑impact technical operations

  • The estimated salary range for this position is $30 to $35/hour.   Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills and experience.

  • Valid driver’s license + ability to meet driving requirements (MVR, certifications, compliance forms)

  • Capacity to travel regularly, including overnight trips
