Job Title: Controls Engineer
Job Description
Develops and implements control systems of low to medium complexity, ensuring they adhere to industry standards and best practices. The role involves participation in system commissioning and ensuring that designs meet project requirements. For those with more experience, managing small-scale controls projects, including timelines, budgets, and deliverables, is expected. Responsibilities include identifying and resolving low-level issues within production and development control systems using predefined methods and guidelines. The position involves creating and refining control system documentation, including diagrams, manuals, and reports, to ensure alignment with best practices and compliance requirements. Additionally, the role includes implementing simple automation and safety systems, ensuring safety standards are met and integrated into control systems.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement low to medium complexity control systems.
Participate in system commissioning to ensure design meets project requirements.
Manage small-scale controls projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
Identify and resolve low-level issues within production and development control systems.
Create and refine control system documentation, ensuring compliance with best practices.
Implement simple automation and safety systems, integrating safety standards into control systems.
Assist in electrical design, PLC, and robotic programming, with a focus on HMI development and supporting functions.
Essential Skills
Experience in automation, HMI development, programming, and robotics.
Bachelor's degree in engineering is highly preferred for entry-level candidates.
2-year degree in electrical or mechatronics engineering is acceptable.
Strong GPA and internship experience are highly preferred.
5+ years of experience required if no degree is held.
Experience with Rockwell or Allen Bradley PLCs is a plus.
Working knowledge of mechatronics theory is a plus.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with universal robots and HMI development using Ignition or Digital Factory.
Understanding of the interaction between mechanical components, electrical systems, and control logic.

This is a Contract position based out of Rockford, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $58.00/hr.
