Overview: Thompson Sanitation Corp. is seeking a Diesel Mechanic in Rock Hill.
The Diesel Mechanic is responsible to perform routine preventative maintenance and general reconditioning of equipment on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles. Diagnose, document, and repair engine fault codes (Company supplied OEM software) following proper warranty procedures Repair / Replace brakes, steering components, suspension, and perform alignments Replace clutches & transmissions. Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance Completing oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment and brake checks Other Job Duties as assigned
Requirements: Valid Driver's License (A Valid CDL, or the ability to acquire a CDL with training may be required) Physical Exam Reference Check Own Tools Own Car Experience using Hand tools Certification as a Diesel Mechanic is preferred Experience as a fleet mechanic, diesel mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic is preferred Experience or formal training diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Class 1-7 diesel tractors
Skills needed to perform job Mechanical Aptitude Troubleshooting Communication Teamwork Problem Solving OSHA safety procedures and hazardous material regulations
Shift, Salary, and Benefits: This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday, First Shift, $22-$30 hourly depending on Experience and Certification, Benefits include Paid Vacation, Paid Sick Leave, Holidays, and 401K/Retirement.
