Description
Weyerhaeuser’s Rochester, WA Regeneration facility is hiring a Maintenance Team Member, this position requires a broad range of skills and knowledge to support the activities on site. We are seeking an individual with a strong maintenance/mechanic background who desires to work in an agricultural production facility as part of an industry leading tree growing company. This position consists of preventive maintenance, repair and light construction responsibilities and reports to the maintenance supervisor for work across the site.
The Rochester facility sits on 145 acres and consists of 22 acres of greenhouses and outdoor growing space, 90 acres of seed orchard, and a seed cleaning facility. This is a non-exempt, hourly position paid $29.03-$30.66 per hour depending on skills and experience.
Key Functions:
Set a good example, particularly in safety, professional job behavior, integrity, fairness, and positive work attitude
Accountable for safety, documentation, and record keeping; use and updating of job hazard analysis documents with updates to safety procedures with the site team and completion of required safety training
Participates in maintenance activities, equipment operation, and problem solving
Assist in maintaining records for equipment in all areas of the site’s operations. Minor vehicle maintenance, general inspections, and pre-operation inspections prior to using equipment
Working on buildings and site equipment to maintain and repair as needed with input from the maintenance supervisor
Tracking time on specific projects and completing work orders
Light metal fabrication: welding, cutting, prepping, and painting small projects
Repairing and installing PVC piping for irrigation and wastewater
Light electrical work: trouble shooting and repairing of circuits depending on experience
LP Unit heater installation, maintenance, and repair
Openness to innovating processes and equipment

Qualifications
Minimum of a high school diploma
Solid work history with 2+ year(s) of maintenance experience
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
The ability to work safely, contribute to the safety of team members, and maintain a safe work environment
Must have excellent listening and communication skills; ability to read and follow written instructions
Must be team oriented, work successfully with others and contribute to a positive and productive work environment
Willingness to work in an outdoor environment with varying temperatures
Ability to flow to work across the site as needed, may involve overtime and short notice to respond to site
Ability to perform the essential job functions such as bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, and working at heights
Assets:
2-year technical degree
Ability to communicate in Spanish
Experience maintaining farm or nursery equipment
Familiarity with CMMS
