Caring and Sharing Child Care Center Early Childhood Universal Pre-Kindergarten Teacher Job Posting Position Title: UPK Lead TeacherDepartment: EducationSalary Range: $22 - $30 an hour - Full-timeHours/Week: 35-40 HoursShift/Hours/Days: Days/8:00 am 3:30pm or 8:00am-5:00 pm /Monday through FridayFull -Time: Yes Caring and Sharing Child Care Center, Inc. is a National Accredited Child Care Center (NAEYC) well established, that has been successfully delivering high quality services to the families and children of Rochester, NY for over 30 years. We are located in downtown Rochester in a beautiful, historic landmark building with classrooms that are fully equipped to meet the needs of all of our children from 6 weeks to 12 yrs. old. We offer full-time services for Universal Pre-Kindergarten and child care include before and after school care and summer enrichment studies for all of our school age children. It is our mission to "Lead All Children to Their Designed Principles" and we believe that quality child care includes daily learning activities, physical fitness and a positive social-emotional climate in a clean, safe environment, which helps support all children's growth and learning potential. We also daily provide breakfast, lunch and snack with food prepared by our center chef on site following CACFP guidelines. We are pleased to announce that this upcoming school year we are expanding our Universal Pre-Kindergarten program in partnership with the Rochester City School District. We are in need of a Universal Pre-Kindergarten Teacher for our UPK classroom. The Universal Pre-Kindergarten Teachers and Teachers Assistants work under the direction of the Director of Education to ensure that the program adheres to and follows all requirements of the Rochester City School District. We follow the HighScope Curriculum and NYS Common Core Standards including all scheduled developmentally appropriate lesson plans in accordance to the Daily Routine, COR assessments and all assessments required by the District. Parent involvement is also a key component of the program. Experience with implementation of High Scope Curriculum preferred. Professionalism and exemplary work ethic. Knowledge of NYS OCFS regulations - will train for professional development. Minimum of one year of classroom experience required. Experience with implementation of High Scope Curriculum preferred or coach-able. Essential Functions:Provide active, safe and fully engaged supervision of the children at all times.Ensure that the classroom meets each child's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs.Attend to program requirements required by the Rochester City School District for COR and the NYS Common Core StandardsEnsure that daily records for Attendance, Well-Child Check and CACFP counts are maintained.Schedule and conduct individual parent-teacher conferences and communicate on a regular basis with parents/guardian including maintaining documentation of communications.Initiate parent and community involvement to support student achievement.Involve parents/guardians in school and learning activities.Initiate meaningful and regular communication with parents in a variety
