Rochester Regional Health Senior Director, Nursing and Perioperative Operations in ROCHESTER, New York
Description Job Title: Senior Director, Nursing & Perioperative Services Department: Perioperative Services Location: Rochester General Hospital Hours Per Week: 40 hours Schedule: Monday to Friday, Days SUMMARY: Manages and directs the entire perioperative operations of nursing and multiple service-lines on a daily and strategic basis. RESPONSIBILITIES: Directs the day-to-day operations of the perioperative arena for all of the surgical and procedural service-lines within Perioperative Operations. Directly oversees nursing, the administrative team, and central sterile processing. Devises and implements optimal organizational structure to ensure efficient practice operations given the financial and personnel resources available. Attracts, retains, and develops the best and brightest Nursing and Administrative Leaders. Provides guidance and training and monitors daily performance of management staff. Develops and implements standardized processes and systems within the service-line relating to information, operations, patient service and data reporting. Collaborates with leadership in strategic planning and implementation. Promotes multi-disciplinary collaboration. Works closely with the Chairs of Surgery and Anesthesia to formulate a vision and strategic plan for the periop services. Continually evaluates patient quality, safety, and performance, identifies improvement opportunities, and plans and implements improvement programs. Collaborates with the clinical leadership to ensure compliance with RRHS quality initiatives and ensures compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements. Ensure optimal patient service and promote ongoing patient satisfaction and staff morale. Collaborates with leadership in ensuring optimal financial performance. Participates with the Finance leadership in budget formulation and ongoing variance analysis. Monitors operations to ensure compliance with budget and works on financial improvement opportunities. Establishes and maintains an environment that promotes a spirit of inquiry and is supportive of professional nursing practice and evidenced based practices. Directs the development and implementation of standards, policies and programs to ensure excellence in nursing practice. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum eight (8) years of experience in healthcare operations and leadership preferred. Demonstrated experience and success in working collaboratively with physicians and other organizational leadership to achieve identified organizational goals. Results driven leader with experience in developing, designing and executing clinical programs that create measurable outcomes in quality, service, finance, growth and people. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospital, Public Administration or Nursing required; Master's in same field preferred. REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: If an RN, active New York State Registered Nursing License required. EDUCATION: BS: Nursing (Required) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA) RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED) PAY RANGE: $120,000.00 - $185,000.00 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
