Compensation Range:

$55,955.00 - $78,336.00

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

Conducts specialized and complex analysis of grant financial data in support of various finance functions. Manages pos-award budgets and grant finances from government grants, foundations and/or other grant-award bodies. Establishes grant accounts and monitors grant expenditures to ensure compliance with sponsor regulations. Prepares financial reports and statements. Stays up-to-date on federal and University policies and regulations relating to research grant administration.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Serves as post-award grant specialist for several divisions within the department.

  • Assists department research administrator with proposal budgets. (5%)

  • Serves as a liaison between ORACS, PI, department research administrator, and other University departments to manage complex research projects. Assists PI and internal University departments in completing financial and project reports throughout and at conclusion of a grant. (10%)

  • Prepares PCAs and PAAs in collaboration with PIs to allocated and reallocate effort to proper FAOS and budget periods. Assists in coordination of semi-annual effort certification process in Workday. (10%)

  • Responds to requests from leadership for data reports of historical and trending expenses. (5%)

  • Reports on the financial status for managed grant activities, develops and revise relevant workflows as needed, identifies administrative needs and challenges, and provides operational-support allowing leadership to make evidence-based, strategic decisions about ongoing program development. (50%)

  • Represents the Principal Investigators and/or program leadership to outside organizations involved in our research. Acts as a resource when working with other departments of the University and Medical Center. Supervises, trains, and develops administrative staff in all aspects of pre-award grant management. (5%)

  • Develops annual service center budgets and completes monthly billings and monthly financial reports. (15%)

  • Keeps abreast of trends, such as sponsors' policies and procedures, as they relate to the field by attending seminars, professional meetings, and courses that enhance personal development and strengthen the user function. Participates in professional meeting sessions or workshops as resources and time permits.

  • Assists in the development and/or modification of research/grants polices and operation procedures.

  • Maintains CLASP certification.

  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience required

  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience with DOE and DOD grants/contracts or other regulatory agency administration preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent organizational skill and attention to detail preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written communication preferred

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • CLASP Certification strongly preferred, completion in 1 year required
